Charlotte & Josh's Small, Intimate Micro Wedding:

Thanks to a certain pandemic; Berkshire micro weddings have seen a dramatic increase in popularity. Micro weddings are an intimate affair, typically with 30 guests or less. They may be smaller in scale but they still feature all the time-honoured traditions we have come to love over the years.

The Ceremony:

Charlotte and Josh loved the idea of a small, private wedding ceremony; fewer guests, less pressure and a lot less nerves. They opted to marry in our beautiful Oak Room; an intimate ceremony space located in our Victorian Manor House with oak panelling, original fire place, bay windows and spectacular views of our gardens. They said their 'I Do's' in front of just 20 guests and opted for no readings during the ceremony - short, sweet and exactly what they had hoped for.

Drinks Reception:

A beautiful May day meant Charlotte and Josh were able to start their wedding celebrations with a drinks reception in our English country garden with our Victorian Manor House as the backdrop. Their drinks reception was accompanied by a selection of homemade canapes - the star of any drinks reception and a firm favourite with wedding guests. The happy couple embraced our 'dogs welcome policy' and brought along their beloved four legged friend, who joined them for photos and mingling with guests.

Wedding Breakfast:

Following the drinks reception guests headed over to our 17th century converted barn for a three course wedding breakfast. Charlotte and Josh opted for just one large oval table that all guests could sit around (taking the stress out of putting together a table plan), this was beautifully decorated with burnt orange and white florals that were put together by the bride herself.

Evening Reception:

Once the formalities were over an additional 90 guests were invited to celebrate at the couple's evening reception. The evening celebrations started with more drinks and canapes on our lawns; accompanied by the sweet sounds of a saxophonist - the vibe was chic and exclusive. Once the sun started to set guests headed back to our Briar Barn for the party of all parties. Entertainment was provided by a DJ and guests were treated to a delicious BBQ feast cooked fresh by our chefs in our breath taking courtyard garden; an area adorned with festoon lighting, blankets and plenty of outdoor seating.
